First Baptist, a place to grow

Located in the heart of Linn County agriculture, First Baptist is a place where you can find an environment for growth in your relationship with God. Our church family gathers from Brownsville and the surrounding communities to encourage each other to love God to and serve others. "Welcome" is spoken here, we invite you to be our guest.

My wife and I found a warm First Baptist welcome here in October 2002. I was a carpenter in commercial construction and came to serve as the part-time interim pastor. During the months that followed, God used our experience with the church family to prompt us to consider stepping back into a full-time ministry role. During the same time, God led the congregation to invite me to consider coming as its pastor.

The door opened wide for us to come and serve full time. My wife and I moved to Brownsville in December 2003. Today we enjoy being part of the historic community of Brownsville and the cycles of farming.

A little more than 200 people of all ages consider First Baptist their church home. We value studying God's Word in an environment of supportive relationships. We hope you will visit us. Please let me know if I can be of any help to you. If you would like to hear a sermon before visiting, simply download a message in an MP3 format.
